Summer Walker has announced a split from rapper Rico Recklezz just months after the pair went public with their seemingly hot and heavy romance.
As the story goes, Rico had sent Summer DMs for the last eight years trying to get her attention, and she finally gave him a chance late last year. Since then, the pair have been inseparable…until now.
Taking to her Instagram Story this week, Summer announced she is single once again – while simultaneously revealing that Playboi Carti will be on her next album.
With a photo from the studio alongside Carti and his girlfriend, Summer wrote,”Yes I’m single but don’t be weird now y’all. I can’t even think about fuckin w another man. I love Rico. He really is a sweet man when he wants to be… That’s my Pumkin for life, things just didn’t align how we wanted cause we from two different worlds. Let’s move on now n not create false narratives.

She continued: “Thank you Carti for pulling up to add a great finishing touch on my album, you were a perfect gentleman & your wife is so sweet n funny.”
In a second slide, she added: “I’m literally honestly & truly over men like that’s it for me. I find more peace in alone, but let’s normalize moving on without mess. No disrespect no hard feelings no bad mouthing each other. Everything copacetic on my end, it’s all lessons n love.”
Rico also seems like he’s okay with it all, writing on his own story: “I love my life an I love God so much I’m so thankful n grateful yall jus don’t kno how blessed n favored I am n how good God is.”
With a busy few months ahead, Summer Walker hopefully won’t dwell too much on the split. In June, she’ll head out on the road as a supporting act on Chris Brown’s Breezy Bowl XX Tour.

The international trek will hit stadiums throughout Europe and North America when it kicks off in Amsterdam. It makes its way to the States in late July, where it wraps in Breezy’s new home base of Las Vegas in September.
