Playboi Carti has claimed that he was banned from attending this year’s Met Gala.
On Instagram, the “Magnolia” rapper wrote: MET GALA BANNED ME FELT LIKE WE GOT KICKED OUT OF PROM BUT WE GOOD [GIO] WITH ME IM A HAPPY MAN FuCK EM.”
Carti did not reveal why he might have been banned from attending the event which seems especially odd considering his longtime friend A$AP Rocky was co-chair of this year’s Gala.
The Met Gala, which is organized by famed Vogue editor Anna Wintour, have also not commented on Carti’s claim.

If indeed banned from the event, Carti would join a very small group of people to be excluded from attending including current president Donald Trump.

This year’s Met Gala was most notable for Rihanna revealing that she and A$AP Rocky were expecting their third child together.
The 37-year-old Barbadian superstar appeared fashionably late at the Met Gala on Monday (May 5) and could be seen sporting a pronounced baby bump which she cradled in front of the awaiting media.
While RiRi did not speak to reporters, Rocky, who is co-chair of the event this year, spoke briefly about the news on the red carpet.
“It is time to just show the people what we were cooking up,” he said.

Rocky also added: “I’m glad everybody’s happy for us because we’re definitely happy.”
It was not revealed how far along Rihanna was in her pregnancy.
André 3000 also launched his surprise new EP 7 Piano Sketches at the annual fashion event.

The rap legend showed up to the Gala wearing a blue suit and red hat with a piano on his back to symbolize the new project being entirely made up of piano instrumentals.
The OutKast rapper also explained on social media that the EP was originally recorded a decade ago.
He wrote: “This collection of songs was recorded almost a decade before New Blue Sun. The original title for it was ‘The Best Worst Rap Album In History’ and here is an excerpt from the original liner notes.
“’It’s jokingly the worst rap album in history because there are no lyrics on it at all. It’s the best because it’s the free-est emotionally and best I’ve felt personally. It’s the best because it’s like a palette cleanser for me.’”
