Nicki Minaj has reacted to breaking one of Drake‘s longstanding Billboard records.
With the release of Lil Wayne reunion track “Banned From NO”, Minaj once again debuted at number one on the Billboard Rap Digital Sales chart.
Minaj and Drake were previously locked with 24 number ones each on the chart but the Trinidadian born rapper has now edged ahead with 25.
Despite now taking the record, Minaj still had nothing but love for her former Young Money labelmate.

“Banned from NO” was notable for the shots Minaj took at the NFL for not picking Wayne to headline the Super Bowl halftime show earlier this year when it was in New Orleans.

Minaj spat: “NFL, fire some n-ggas and then call us.”
The “Anaconda” rapper has been one of the most vocal critics of the NFL’s decision to overlook Wayne in favor of Kendrick Lamar.
Minaj appeared to specifically blame JAY-Z for the call, slamming him for working with the NFL: “One n-gga took a knee. The other n-gga took the bag. He gon get you ‘n-ggers’ in line every fkng time.”
She continued taking shots, saying that JAY was in business with “the Politicians and the police”: “Got everything in the world. Still spiteful & evil,” she wrote. “Disgusting.”

She then directly addressed what she viewed as the root of the issue: that what she called JAY’s “hatred” of her, Drake, and Birdman led to him denying Wayne a showcase he deserved.
“Denying a young black man what he rightfully put into this game for no other reason but your ego,” she wrote. “Your hatred for BIRDMAN, Drake & Nicki got you punishing Lil Wayne?!?!!!”
Lil Wayne himself admitted he was upset that he was not chosen to perform at the Super Bowl.

He said: “That hurt. It hurt a lot. You know what I’m talking about. It hurt a whole lot. I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown, and for automatically mentally putting myself in that position like somebody told me that was my position. So I blame myself for that.
“But I thought that was nothing better than that spot and that stage and that platform in my city, so it hurt. It hurt a whole lot. But y’all are fucking amazing. It made me feel like shit not getting this opportunity and when I felt like shit, you guys reminded me that I ain’t shit without y’all… and that’s an amazing reality.”
