Kid Cudi has been forced to call off his upcoming trek across North America and Europe after sustaining an injury during his performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

On Wednesday (April 24), the Ohio native shared a message on social media in which he told his fans and followers that he won’t be able to recover in time for the “Insano: Engage The Rage” world tour later this summer.

“Guys, so, I have a broken calcaneus,” he wrote. “Im headed to surgery now and there’s gonna be a long recovery time. We have to cancel the tour so I can focus on getting better to be out there in top shape to rage with you all. Theres just no way I can bounce back in time to give 100%.

“The injury is much more serious than I thought. Anyone who bought tickets will get a full refund, you’ll get an email soon. We will be back with new tour dates as soon as possible, and I can’t wait to get back out there with you guys and turn up how we do. I’m so sorry fam and I love you all so much, thanks for the endless love and support.”

He concluded: “Im really disappointed as im sure you guys are too, but I will be back. Thats a promise [wink emoji, pink-hearts emoji, heart-shaped hand-gesture emoji] Im ok, just a lil soreness, but im in good spirits [blushing emoji].”

For the same reasons stated above, the “Mr. Rager” hitmaker will be unable to fulfill his commitments with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, with whom he was scheduled to play a pair of shows in June and July.

“Due to his injury at Coachella this weekend, Kid Cudi is postponing his entire tour,” the group shared on social media. “Unfortunately that includes the two dates he was doing with RHCP. We will update you with new support for these shows.”

The 40-year-old rapper and singer ended up breaking his foot when he jumped off the stage during his last-minute performance at the festival in California, though he learned a valuable lesson in the process.

In a video shared to X (formerly Twitter) earlier this week, he humbly accepted that he may just be past his prime rage age.

“Um, yeah. Shit got real yesterday,” he said while lying in bed. “This is what happens when a 40-year-old man tries to prance around off stage like he’s 26, like he used to do back in the day. I learned a valuable lesson — no more prancing around and jumping off stages.

“I’m hoping that I’ll be healed up in time for tour. That’s the plan. I don’t wanna let you guys down, so yeah, that’s what we’re aiming for. Not cancelling anything just yet.

He continued: “Just gonna wait and see how things go. But I’m okay; little sore. Yesterday was a lot of pain, but I’m doing better now. I have a little temporary cast on and I gotta go get a real cast in a little bit. Apparently, I broke something in my heel.

“This is a major setback. But don’t worry, I’ma bounce back. I love y’all, all day! Engage the rage, but not at 40.”
