CHIKA is nothing if not a firebrand for controversy — and her latest statement about Stevie Wonder certainly is up there in terms of “interesting claims.”
According to Page Six, the rapper — who has collaborated with Wonder on her new album, Samson, which is set to be released next Friday (July 30) — said she would meet with the Motown legend on video chat platform Zoom, despite Wonder being blind since he was a baby.

But according to the outlet, CHIKA, talking to a crowd at the listening party for Samson, explained that the Zoom call was “just for me, not him.”
Wonder is featured on the song “Get Here,” and CHIKA also said she turned him into a “huge fan” of her work after playing him the album — which is inspired by the biblical story of Samson and Delilah.

“After getting to maybe track 18 out of 20, he grabbed my arm and pulled me in, and said, ‘What do you need from me?'” she recalled. “Eventually, he was like… ‘I have to be on this record.'”
“It was nuts!” she added. “We were just two spirits that understand one another and he wanting… to be beside me as I enter this chapter and exit the last one.”

While CHIKA’s claim about Stevie Wonder falls on the positive end of the spectrum, she hasn’t always made headlines for making nice remarks about people.
Last month, the Alabama-based rapper took to Twitter to moan about a pair of baby twins sat near her on a first-class flight, who allegedly, as babies are known to do, began crying on the flight.

After firing off a series of rage-filled tweets, that included telling the children’s mother: “I hope you get a paper cut between each finger tomorrow, you senseless wench,” CHIKA came under fire from not only social media for her comments.
As it turned out, the “babies” in question weren’t twins, and apparently weren’t acting up — and one of them was the child of Tiny Harris’ daughter (and T.I.’s stepdaughter) Zonnique Pullins. This led to CHIKA being on the receiving end of a tongue lashing from the Xscape singer.
However, even after facing backlash from Tiny, Zonnique, as well as social media at large, the “SONGS ABOUT YOU” rapper has said she’s not sorry for the comments and has even doubled down on her stance in a series of tweets that included her attacking the kids once again.
CHIKA took to Twitter to explain how she had fallen in love with someone over the weekend, sharing photos of her and the person’s matching tattoos. One fan commented: “Who cares. Did you apologize to that mom and children?” Which set the rapper off on a rant.

“Why would i do that,” she asked, before elaborating further. “It wouldn’t be sincere. i’m sorry you saw it. i’m not sorry for saying what i said cuz it wasn’t personal. it was venting about a scenario/stranger. idc like that.”
