Tyrese is requesting a new judge in his ongoing divorce case, after suggesting that the one currently presiding has it out for him.
According to a report from TMZ on Tuesday (November 21), the singer/actor filed a motion in court this week, alleging Judge Farmer abruptly canceled a court hearing that would have allowed him to tell his side of the story before having to fork over a $450,000 bond.

Instead, Tyrese says that Judge Farmer ordered him to come up with the six-figure sum (which was in connection with his appeal of an order in the case) in just 10 days. He said he was going to use the hearing to explain why he couldn’t pay the money because of the impact of the Hollywood strikes – but that the fact it was canceled shows a clear bias toward him.
This isn’t the first time Tyrese has taken issue with Judge Farmer. Days before a court hearing earlier this year (the results of which he was trying to appeal with this latest court date), Tyrese blasted the judge for being “racist” and allegedly calling his ex-wife a “bitch” in the private chambers of his office. He also accused the judge of illegally sealing his case in an attempt to hide his misconduct.

“We tried to get him recused, we tried to get him thrown off the bench because of his conduct and his unprofessionalism. And then there were a bunch of things pertaining to the outcome of my case that he did that was literally illegal,” he said in a lengthy video posted on Instagram.
The 44-year-old’s issues with the judge date back to last August, when the Fulton County jurist threatened to hold him in contempt of court for arguing with his ex-wife’s lawyer over his earnings.

At that hearing, the Fast & Furious star was ordered to pay over $10,000 a month in child support to his ex-wife Samantha Gibson for their daughter Soraya Lee.
Things became contentious during the hearing when Tyrese exchanged words with his estranged wife’s lawyer over his earnings.
“Sir, I’m asking you, because I don’t do the CFO thing. Here’s a question to you, smart person,” Tyrese said before he was cut off by the judge, who threatened to hold the star in contempt of court. “If you do it again, I’m gonna hold you in contempt. You don’t ask any questions. That’s not how this works!”
Judge Farmer continued: “This is not a punishment for you. Put that money where it belongs, in the child … I want you both to love your kid, and I want you both to tell your kid to love the other parent, because that’s how we get successful human beings.

“Nobody won here and nobody lost. The kid lost, because she doesn’t have her parents together. Minimize the effects of that loss. Minimize it in every way, shape and form you can.”
Farmer reduced Tyrese’s lump sum payments from $209,000 to $169,000 after finding out he took care of paying Samantha Gibson’s car bill for the previous two years since they officially split. Gibson filed for divorce from Tyrese in 2020.
