TakeOff (real name Kirshnik Ball) was shot and killed outside a bowling alley in Houston, Texas in the early hours of November 1, 2022. The 28-year-old was fatally wounded after a dice game turned violent and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Quavo, who was with TakeOff at the time of the shooting, was unscathed, while two other victims were transported to nearby hospitals with gunshot wounds.
Quavo and TakeOffâs mothers Edna Maddox and Titania Davenport also sat down with the White Houseâs Office of Gun Violence Prevention Deputy Director, Greg Jackson, for âTurning Pain Into Purpose: A Conversation On Gun Violence,â where they discussed the feeling of losing loved ones to gun violence, and their efforts to prevent this from happening to others.
