Kid Cudi has hit a point in his career where the younger generation views him as a legend for his Hip Hop contributions. As humble as he is, the Cleveland rapper inspired many artists and creatives today with his emo-rap style.
That’s the case with music video director Cole Bennett who thinks working with Cudi will be the moment that tells him he’s made it in the industry. Bennett tweeted about his dream of working with Cudi in December, and it seems like the universe has worked in his favor.
On Monday (March 15), Cudi tagged Bennett in a tweet asking him to direct a music video. Unbeknownst to him, Cudi found out how badly Bennett has wanted to get something down with him. In less than 30 minutes, the Lyrical Lemonade founder tweeted back at Cudi, reiterating his dream for a collaboration like this.
“This has been a dream of mine since the day I picked up the camera,” Bennett wrote back to Cudi. “Let’s make history.”

Cudi saw the response and wasted no time telling Bennett, “Hittin u!!”
There’s no better time than now for Cudi and Bennett to get a music video done. Bennett is one of the most in-demand directors in the game with a résumé that includes work with Trippie Redd, Juice WRLD, Eminem, Lil Durk and more. On the other hand, Cudi recently released his seventh studio album, Man on the Moon III: The Chosen, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.
So far, Cudi has unleashed two visuals for “She Knows This” and “Heaven on Earth,” which serves as a short film for the album. There’s no word on what song they could be working on, but fans can expect Cudi and Bennett to bring the best out of each other for an exciting video.
