Yo Gotti affiliate Corey McClendon was booked on Wednesday (September 27) for an attempted murder charge following the Hollywood shooting of Young Dolph on Tuesday (September 26). According to USA Today, McClendon has been released without charges.

Los Angeles District Attorney office spokesman Greg Risling said the 42-year-old man was released early Friday (September 29) after prosecutors requested “further investigation” by police.

McClendon had been held for 48 hours on a $1 million bond. Risling explained that under California law, “if you are arrested and booked and no charges are filed within 48 hours, you have to be released.”

He also added that police must “come back to us with a case and then (the district attorney) will decide whether to file charges” after further investigation.

Police are still looking for two other people suspected of being involved in the altercation outside the Loews Hollywood Hotel that led to the shooting. Members of Gotti and Dolph’s entourages were both staying at the same hotel.

Following the afternoon incident, Dolph was rushed to a local hospital with multiple gunshot wounds and was listed in critical condition. He is expected to survive.

Los Angeles Police Officer Mike Lopez said the shooting stemmed from an altercation between Dolph and three other men outside of the Loews Hollywood Hotel. At one point, the self-proclaimed King of Memphis was knocked to the ground and shot several times. Dolph managed to get to the nearby Shoe Palace while two of the men took off on foot, and a third peeled off in a Cadillac Escalade, which was later discovered abandoned near the scene.

Late Tuesday afternoon, TMZ reported that the LAPD had named fellow rapper Yo Gotti a person of interest. Gotti and Dolph were both staying at the Loews Hotel, but on Wednesday morning (September 27), the L.A. County Sheriff’s Office reportedly disputed those claims and confirmed Gotti is not a person of interest at this time.

One person was detained at the scene, but released without charges.

The self-proclaimed “King of Memphis” suffered several gunshot wounds, although his injuries are reportedly not life threatening. So far, no arrests have been made.

In February, Dolph’s SUV was shot over 100 times in Charlotte, North Carolina. Blac Youngsta turned himself in shortly after a warrant was issued for his arrest in May.

UPDATE: Yo Gotti has been named a person of interest, according to TMZ. Gotti and Dolph were both staying at the Loews Hollywood Hotel when their respective entourages got into an argument and it quickly turned physical. As Dolph was on the ground, he was shot several times.
