4Batz has given Adin Ross a shock after revealing his real voice during his first on-camera interview.

Appearing on Ross’ Kick stream on Tuesday (April 30) ahead of the release of his debut project, the viral star spoke in his natural voice, which is in stark contrast to the high-pitched, digitized vocals he uses in his music.

Reacting to 4Batz’s deep voice, Ross said: “Wait, that’s your voice, bro? That’s crazy! […] Wow!” as he tried to figure out where the singer’s accent was from. (4Batz hails from Dallas, Texas.)

Prior to his appearance on Adin Ross’ channel, 4Batz shared the tracklist for his upcoming EP U Made Me a St4r, which will be comprised of 11 songs including his breakout hit “act ii: date @ 8.”

The project will be released on Friday (May 3) via Drake‘s OVO Sound label, which signed the rising star to a distribution deal earlier this year.

In a recent interview with GQ, 4Batz addressed accusations that he is an “industry plant” whose music is computer-generated.

“I think it’s kind of cool. It’s like I’m the boogeyman,” he said. “[Then] people are going to meet me and be like, ‘Oh, this is a regular hood n-gga.'”

The 22-year-old also reflected on his past struggles with homelessness and depression.

He said: “My whole life, I’ve been feeling like I was cursed […] I don’t know what it’s like to have a house […] I only lived in an apartment probably two times in my life. The rest of the time I was living with my uncle, my grandma, sleeping on the floor. I slept in a church for four years.”

He continued: “I’ve been on suicide watch before. I’ve been on all these other programs, taking antidepressants and shit. I’ve been on that shit. I was at the point where I’m tired of it. I was like, I could just take myself and be gone or I can push myself harder than I ever did in my life.”

Since his rapid rise to fame, 4Batz has received praise from the likes of Kanye West, SZA and Timbaland, and has also hit the studio with Chris Brown who is rumored to appear on his upcoming EP.
