HipHopDX Premiere: After announcing their triumphant return in June, Mr. Lif and Akrobatik — collectively known as The Perceptionists — delivered their first album in 12 years, Resolution. In support of the Mello Music Group album, the longtime friends have shared a new video for one of the project’s standout tracks, “Dirty Drumz.”

As Lif describes to HipHopDX, the visual boasts “rugged locations and filthy verses.” And he’s right.

Shot in back alleys and boiler rooms, the video’s dark, grimy aesthetic pairs well with the song. Directed by Rove Lab (Jay Brown and Gabe Bornstein), it’s intentionally stripped down to let the seasoned MCs’ rhyme skills easily shine through.
