As #MeanMondays continue to pick up steam, rapper R-Mean is back with week #22’s offering, “Pictures,” which features Hip Hop vet Joe Budden. Throughout “Pictures,” the song provides a deeper look into the life of R-Mean, who reflects on the first time he got into a fight and how that impacted his life. He further speaks of his parents as refugees and how he never had a proper father figure.

“I rap about real shit,” the Armenian American rapper said in a press release. “All the hype associated with industry glitz and glamour ceases to move my soul. Hand me a mic and a notepad — I’m good.”

Past singles from the 52-weeks campaign have seen collaborations with The Game, KXNG Crooked and Compton Menace. Budden and R-Mean have linked up in the past for songs like 2012’s “Talkin’ To You” and will presumably work together more in the future.
