“‘I Don’t Need Ya’ was a song I wrote when going through a low period. My natural instinct was to reach out to someone who loves me to help ease the pain. But I knew that no one, even someone who loved me, could fix it and make it better. I had to find the strength and peace within to get through it and essentially save myself. Emotional pain and struggles are part of life and as much as we crave the love and support of others, we can’t rely on that love to solve our problems. It’s true that no man is an island, you can share someone’s joy or feel someone else’s pain and suffering but in the end, we must find a way to calm the longings of our soul and heal ourselves.”
