Lupe Fiasco has thrown down the gauntlet and made it clear he’s ready to take on any rapper breathing in a battle.

As tensions between some of the biggest names in the game continued to escalate over the weekend, the Chicago lyricist delivered a fiery speech during his performance at Coachella to remind his peers about his pedigree on the mic.

“Hear me clearly when I say this, and I mean it from the bottom of my heart, when it comes to this art. And I quote: I will battle any motherfucking rapper anywhere, any motherfucking time! I don’t give a fuck how many records you sold, I don’t give a fuck how many awards you have,” he declared.

“If you want smoke, I swear on my motherfucking soul I will run through n-ggas, I will chew up n-ggas, I will fuck up n-ggas. Quit playing with me! And that goes for every motherfucker walking and talking.”

He then called out Tyler, The Creator, who was in the crowd and later joined him on stage, as well a member of the audience who apparently looked like Bad Bunny.

“That goes for Tyler’s motherfucking ass. That goes for you, this Bad Bunny-looking motherfucker right here. I don’t care!” he continued. “I do this shit for real, dawg. Stop putting my name in shit unless you want them flames and shit. I am not playing.”

After DJ Semtex applauded him on social media for his “energy” and “passion,” Lupe Fiasco explained his chest-pounding rant.

“Had to add my little comment to the current narrative Semtex,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Folks been sideways on socials and in the media at me all week like I won’t casually rap these boys and girls into the shadow realm…either spawn in and smoke it up or let me finish watching these cybertruck reviews in peace.”

Following his Coachella set, Lupe made another bold claim by saying that Drake is a “better rapper” than Kendrick Lamar.

Speaking on an X Spaces with Aye Verb, the Food & Liquor MC admitted he has not heard Kendrick’s diss verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That” but has listened to — and was impressed by — Drizzy’s response track “Push Ups (Drop & Give Me 50).”

When asked who is the better rapper between the two, Lupe replied without hesitation: “Drake.”

Verb then asked if Lupe thinks the 6 God is a better rapper “by a long shot,” to which he replied: “Not really. Drake got bars … so I would give it to Drake.”

He added: “I think Kendrick’s a better technically skilled performer but I don’t think he’s a better rapper.”
