Kevin Gates’ no-nonsense attitude continues to draw criticism, this time due to him teaching his 10-year-old daughter how to drive with no seatbelt.

The Baton Rouge rapper took to Instagram on Monday (October 23) to share a video of him showing his daughter Islah the ropes when it comes to driving a car — although many would consider her to be too young for such a tall task.

“You can give it a little gas, go about 20 [miles per hour],” Gates instructed his daughter while sat in the passenger seat. “Keep that muthafucka in a row. You got that bitch, Is[lah].”

Gates continued to encourage his daughter in an unapologetic manner, saying: “Come on mane, I’m telling you, you got it. Just like you drive the other shit.”

Islah could be seen concentrating hard as she operated the vehicle, with her hands at 10 and 2 on the steering wheel. However, the car’s seatbelt warning beeped throughout the clip due to her not wearing it.

“When you love what you have – you have everything you need,” KG wrote in his IG caption. “These moments are the ones worth more than anything to a Father #islah says I’m a pretty [face with sunglasses emoji] cool dad – I love you all.”

Although Kevin Gates clearly had full faith in his daughter’s driving ability, there were many who criticized him for allowing such a young person to be given control of a vehicle — not least without following the property safety measures.

“Jus make sure she wear a seatbelt next time [one tear face emoji],” one person commented on the video, while another added: “Where are the seat belts [contemplating face emoji, woman facepalming emoji].”

Gates even jumped into the comments section to reply to a few of his critics. In response to one person who wrote: “This cool and all but bra put her seatbelt on,” he fired back: “I don’t raise pussy’s.”

Another person shared a similar sentiment, saying: “Cool… but why no seat belt?!” to which the rapper replied: “in case I gotta hop out [crying laughing face emoji] just joking.”

When he isn’t being a doting father, the “2 Phones” lyricist continues to make headlines for his bizarre onstage antics. Earlier this month he grossed out the internet by inviting a fan on stage during a show in Virginia and spitting directly into her mouth.

Gates’ actions caused the crowd to go berserk, and he proceeded to continue rapping while the fan processed what just took place.
