Notorious “Pharma Bro” Martin Shkreli has sold his copy of Wu-Tang Clan’s Once Upon A Time In Shaolin, which he obtained for $2 million in 2015. According to eBay’s website, after 343 bids, Shkreli settled on $1,025,100 for the rare album. He put the item up for auction earlier this month.

In the description, Shkreli explained why he finally decided to part with the one-of-a-kind LP.

“This is the one and only Wu-Tang album,” he wrote. “I decided to purchase this album as a gift to the Wu-Tang Clan for their tremendous musical output. Instead I received scorn from at least one of their (least-intelligent) members, and the world at large failed to see my purpose of putting a serious value behind music. I will be curious to see if the world values music nearly as much as I have. I have donated to many rock bands and rappers over the years to ensure they can continue to produce their art when few others would.”

Shkreli, who was recently arrested after making a Facebook post offering $5,000 to anyone who could obtain a strand of Hillary Clinton’s hair, has become not only one of Hip Hop’s greatest villains, but also somewhat of a social pariah in general. In fact, he’s often referred to as the “most hated man in America.”

In 2015, after obtaining ownership of an HIV drug, the former pharmaceutical CEO raised the price by 5,000 percent, he leaked material from Lil Wayne’s highly delayed album Tha Carter V in May and was convicted of three counts of securities fraud last month.

It wouldn’t come as a surprise if all of the money he earned from the eBay sale goes to his lawyer.
