During a recent episode of Pigeons & Planes’ What Had Happened Was series, Atlanta producer Zaytoven shared a story of how a practical joke killed a collaboration between himself, Gucci Mane and former reality star Nicole “Hoopz” Alexander.

Zaytoven explained he was in his old recording studio at his mother’s house with Gucci and Hoopz when a practical joke went left. At one point during the trio’s recording session, Gucci fell asleep and Hoopz decided to cover him in flour.

“So, we get in the studio, I make the beat,” Zaytoven said. “Gucci Mane falls asleep on the couch. Hoopz is trying to put her verse together. What Hoopz does is she goes in my kitchen and gets flour. Gucci Mane’s asleep on the couch. She takes flour and starts putting it on his nose and his face. And the whole time we got the camera on Gucci Mane to see if he gon’ wake up. He’s not waking up. She’s running over there, doing it. And then running away hiding.”

Gucci eventually woke up and according to Zaytoven, he was less than pleased with what went down at his expense. In fact, he ended up leaving.

“Before you know it, Gucci Mane smeared all the stuff on his face,” he said. “Now he wasn’t happy at all. It wasn’t no joke to him. He got up and he was mad … I was scared to tell him that Hoops really put all this stuff on your face because I thought he was gonna spaz out on her. And he didn’t do the song. He left.”

Towards the end of the story, Zaytoven did fess up to the ruined collab being “part my fault” since he let the shenanigans go on.
