Atlanta rapper Drako is ready to make an impact with his new single “Watch Me Do It.” The 24-year-old artist signed with Babygrande Records after impressing the label during his set at the South By Southwest Festival. Now, he hopes to achieve new heights in his career with the help of an imprint that’s released albums by Hip Hop luminaries like GZA, Pete Rock, M.O.P. and Havoc.

Drako’s first single for Babygrande is filled with the flavor of ATL Hip Hop and showcases a different sound from a label that’s specialized in East Coast rap for much of its existence. The track is produced by Yoksta, who has worked with Future and OJ Da Juiceman. Perhaps Drako is destined to reach the same heights as Yoksta’s past collaborators and solidify himself as a force in his hometown’s crowded music scene. Babygrande has teamed up with Atlanta’s Coalition DJ’s to work the “Watch Me Do It” in clubs throughout the city and will premiere the Daps-directed video in the coming weeks.

“We have been active in Atlanta for several years now building our network and developing talent,” the label’s founder Chuck Wilson told HipHopDX. “We hired an A&R in Atlanta which will bring us a step closer to our goal to open a full blown office and recording studio in 2018. We see our future as a multi-city and multi-genre label going forward.”
