JAY-Z dropped plenty of gems on his new 4:44 album, but he’s got a few more to share with his fans. After previously releasing footnote videos for “The Story of O.J.” and the title track, the Roc Nation boss has dropped another one (that’s TIDAL-exclusive right now) for the LP’s opener, “Kill Jay Z.”

“It’s really about the ego,” Hov says in the video. “Killing off the ego so we can have this conversation in a place of vulnerability and honesty. JAY-Z the public persona couldn’t have this conversation. It’s really Shawn Carter speaking to JAY-Z. And he has to convince him to move aside.”

Just like the previous footnote releases, JAY enlists the help of some other celebs to examine the song’s subject matter. Chris Rock, Mahershala Ali, Van Jones, Trevor Noah, Anthony Anderson, Michael Che and Charlamagne Tha God share their thoughts on how ego affects people.
