Since Prodigy’s untimely death in June, frequent collaborator Alchemist is continuing the Queenbridge duo’s legacy with a fresh Mobb Deep track, “Try My Hand.” The seasoned producer posted the song as a standalone track on SoundCloud and captioned it, “For my brother.”

The track comes from Alchemist’s collaborative double-album, The Good Book, Vol. 2, with fellow producer Budgie, the follow-up to 2014’s The Good Book. Released Friday (July 21), the sequel is packed with 45 new tracks and guest spots from MCs like The Cool Kids‘ Chuck Inglish, Action Bronson, Royce Da 5’9, Evidence, Conway and Westside Gunn.

Alchemist and Mobb Deep’s relationship stretches back to the late ’90s, beginning with two tracks on the 1999 Mobb Deep album Murda Muzik — “Thug Muzik” featuring Infamous Mobb and Chinky, and “The Realest” with Kool G Rap.  In 2007, Prodigy and Alchemist teamed up for Return of the Mac and six years later, collectively delivered Albert Einstein.
