Although a majority of country stars reacted positively to the performance, singer Kenny Chesney caught a slight dragging from social media due to his straight-faced reaction to Beyonce and the Dixie Chicks’ performance.

Following the CMA Awards performance, the Dixie Chicks’ Natalie Maines thanked Beyonce, and later recalled previously vowing never to perform at the awards show again.
“Ok! I can finally talk about one of the greatest weeks of my life! Thank you @Beyonce ! You slay. All day…I’m pretty sure I’ve uttered the sentence, ‘I will never perform on the CMA’s again as long as I live.’ And then came [Beyonce] :),” Maines wrote in two separate tweets.
