This week’s album sales feature the debut of The Game’s 1992 album, which definitely sold more than Meek Mill projected during their beef. Gucci Mane’s Woptober also sees its first week on Billboard’s Top 200 albums chart strictly off streams because East Atlanta Santa chose to grace his fans with the project for free. Also, Rae Sremmurd sees a 20 percent surge in sales.

The Game Surpasses Meek Mill’s Expectations For “1992”

The Game doubled Meek Mill’s projections on the “OOOUUU” diss track that 1992 would only sell 15,000 units its first week. Instead, the Compton MC pushed nearly 32,000 equivalent album units. The project, which includes the Meek Mill diss track “92 Bars” and the Jeremih-assisted “All Eyez,” was streamed 7.9 million times. 1992 received a 4.1 in HipHopDX’s glowing review.

Rae Sremmurd’s SremmLife 2 receives a 20 percent sales increase as the project lands at #26 on this week’s chart. The dynamic duo pushed more than 13,000 equivalent album units and saw 13.6 million streams in the album’s 10th week on the chart.

Gucci Mane Charts With Free “Woptober”

After the success of Everybody Looking, Gucci Mane returns with his second post-prison album, Woptober, giving it away to his fans for free. It lands at #43 strictly off streams, following the models of Chance The Rapper and Kanye West, who made history for charting off streams alone. Woptober saw 16.3 million plays across all platforms. Consider it an early gift from East Atlanta Santa.
