There are a few slight alterations to the R&B/Hip Hop single sales chart this week with the biggest change coming from Fetty Wap. The Paterson, New Jersey rapper’s single, “679,” jumped from #5 to #3, overtaking both The Weeknd and Macklemore. Elsewhere, the R&B/Hip Hop single sales in general took a hit as just two songs within the Top 20 found themselves experiencing an increase in sales. Lastly, two of Fetty Wap’s biggest singles (“Trap Queen,”“My Way”) found themselves outside of the Top 10 for the second week in a row.

The Weeknd Remains At #1 With “The Hills”

Despite a 5% drop in sales, The Weeknd remained atop of the chart this week with his single “The Hills.” The Canadian singer sold 104,651 units of the track during the seven days leading to October 1, taking the cut’s total sales since its official release to 1,587,701 units.

Drake’s “Hotline Bling” Goes Gold

Drake’s “Hotline Bling (Cha Cha Remix)” remains at #2 for the third week in a row. The single sold 101,431 units during the seven days leading to October 1, meaning it has now reached gold status with a total of 564,185 copies sold since its official release.

Fetty Wap’s “679” Jumps To #3

Fetty Wap’s “679” was one of just two singles to experience an increase in sales within the Top 20 on this week’s R&B/Hip Hop sales chart. The cut saw a 4% bump in sales, selling a total of 69,459 units during the seven days leading to October 1.
