Just days after lashing out at Young Thug onstage, Lil Wayne is apparently refocusing his attention on his own music and setting his next release up for big expectations in the process.

While the fate of his Carter Valbum and his future on Cash Money Records remains unclear, Wayne is doubling down on the promo for his next release, the strategically titled Free Weezy Album. Yesterday the rapper took to Twitter and pledged to his audience, “I won’t let u down as a fan.”

During a performance in Mississippi last week, Wayne broke his silence on Young Thug, whose next release, tha Carter 6, pays homage to his idol.  “Stop listening to songs of niggas who pose naked on their motherfucking album covers,” Wayne said in the middle of a performance. Thug responded shortly after in an Instagram video, saying, “I understand that Lil Wayne is frustrated about his career and I feel him on that, but this is my idol. I would never in my life swap words with him or beef with him about nothing.”
