Young Thug is serious about releasing Tha Carter 6.

Yesterday (March 24), two leaks from the LP surfaced via Thug’s Young Stoner Life (YSL) soundcloud.

The first, “Beat It,” features Jacquees and finds Thugger rapping, “let me beat it, let me stroke it,” while Jacquees croons in the background.

“Halftime,” the second track from the LP, is an up-tempo braggadocios offering. During the record, Thug lets loose one of his signature riffs.

Both cuts were produced by London On Da Track.

Last week, Thugger previewed a remix to Lil Wayne’s “Grindin” via an Instagram video. He also let his followers know that Tha Carter 6 is on the way.

While Wayne hasn’t commented on Thug’s decision to continue Tha Carter series he started in 2004, his daughter –Reginae Carter – has shared her thoughts on Twitter.

“Is he trying to be funny with this Carter6 ? Cause it’s pretty childish to me ! #myopinion,” Reginae tweeted last week.

Thug has mentioned numerous times that he idolizes Lil Wayne.

UPDATE #2: Young Thug has renamed his upcoming album Barter 6.

In an Instagram video that has since been deleted, Thug claims he changed the album title due to threats of a lawsuit for copyright infringement. He didn’t mention who threatened to sue, but Lil Wayne has been upset that Thugga has chosen to continue Tha Carter series he began in 2004. Thug justifies replacing the “c” in Carter with a “b” by mentioning his blood gang ties.

Fader has confirmed an official tracklist for the Barter 6 album. Thug nabs two features from Birdman, one from Lil Boosie, T.I. Jacquees, Young Dolph, and more.
