The comments were overwhelmingly positive, with many of Ak’s fans agreeing that the “Munch” rapper did her thing over the drill beat.

Earlier this week, Ice Spice debuted a new song during her set at the first weekend of the Coachella festival, and it borrows from a fan-favorite Sean Paul single released in the early aughts.

The unnamed song will live on her forthcoming debut album, Y2K, so sampling the dancehall and reggae singer’s 2002 smash “Gimme The Light” is quite fitting.

Big knock like I’m not a fighter/Big Ice I don’t need a writer/Ya man calling me baby/I’m his poopie like I need a diaper!” she raps on the drill song.

Last month, Ice Spice revealed that she had completed work on the aforementioned LP by sharing two pictures of herself in pink platform heels and a jean skirt, holding a red lollipop. In the post’s succinct caption, she wrote: “i finished recording y2k the album ^.^”

No release date for the project has been announced yet, but she has offered bits of information about it over the past few months.

During an appearance on The Today Show earlier this year, the Bronx rap star explained that the title is a nod to her date of birth — January 1, 2000 — and she even hinted that there will be at least one major collaboration on the project.
