Fat Trel is missing his former collaborator Nipsey Hussle, and recently visited a Los Angeles-based mural of the late rapper to pay homage.
On Saturday (March 4), Trel shared a photo in front of the mural painted on Nipsey’s Marathon Clothing store along with a message to his late friend.

“RIP BRODEY, MAD AS FUK I AINT GET 2 SAY GOODBYE OR SEE YU OFF,” Trel wrote. “I STILL REMEMBER OUR LAST TALK THO BRUH.. SO YU KNOW IM STILL ON IT… MARATHON 4REAL!! IMA MISS YU”

In 2014, Nipsey appeared alongside Rick Ross on the remix of Trel’s “She Fell in Love” – which had been one of his first major singles after signing with MMG.
Trel’s visit to the mural comes just after Eric Holder was finally sentenced for killing Nipsey – nearly four years since the fatal shooting.

Holder was sentenced to 60 years behind bars by Superior Court Judge H. Clay Jacke II during a hearing on February 22. The sentencing had been delayed for a myriad of reasons after he was found guilty of first-degree murder in the July 2022 trial.
Holder, 33, was allegedly angered by Nipsey accusing him of being a snitch.
“Nipsey was like, ‘Man, you know, they got some paperwork on you, you know. I haven’t read it, you know. Like you my bro, you know. Like maybe you need to take care of that, you know,’” a witness said to the grand jury in 2019.

Holder returned to the scene with a pair of weapons and unloaded at least 10 shots into the Crenshaw rapper, which ultimately proved to be fatal.
Boosie Badazz felt that 60 years wasn’t nearly enough for Holder, however, and took to Twitter following the sentence to offer an alternative punishment he thinks might be more suitable.
“JUST 60 years for killing Nip n he go get PAROLE N 20 lol,” he tweeted. “I hope some crips stab him to death n prison! MAKE NIP SMILE!”
Prior to his sentencing, Holder’s legal team attempted to have his first-degree murder conviction reduced. Defense attorney Aaron Jensen argued that jurors returned an “inconsistent” verdict when they convicted Holder of premeditated murder over Nipsey Hussle’s death, yet accepted his “heat of passion” defense regarding the two other shooting victims, Kerry Lathan and Shermi Villanueva.

Ultimately, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge H. Clay Jacke denied the defense’s request to have the charge reduced to second-degree murder or voluntary manslaughter.
Holder was not eligible to receive the death penalty, but will likely be spending the rest of his life in prison.
