“Hold up,” Wiz Khalifa sings, his voice drenched in Auto-Tune, “we dem boyz.” What’s that, Wiz? “Hold up, we makin’ noise.”

Wiz Khalifa makes noise on his newest track, “We Dem Boyz,” premiered by music-finding app Shazam – fans were sent a first listen of the song after tagging the preview video released earlier today. From the get go, the track, which serves as the first single from his upcoming album, Blacc Hollywood, sounds like it was meant to be played on large speakers. The single’s producer Detail sets the club tempo with alternating repetitive synths, the kind that easily get stuck in your head. The Taylor Gang founder reproduces the formula and sings repetitive lines (“hold up, hold up, we dem boyz”) in his hook. Wiz’s verses are playful and confident. “Young nigga but I’m ready/ Foreign girls call me sexy/ And white girls give me Becky/ but first I got to roll this joint.”

No serious, introspective lines on this track but then again, this track is meant for you to sing along to while holding a foam-spouting champagne bottle up in the air with one hand (while standing on a couch, preferably.)
