Chief Keef the oeTeenage Messiah of Rap, Lil Durk and Young Chop discuss violence in Chicago with Noisey.

Noisey released the first of the 8-part documentary series “Welcome to Chiraq” featuring the originators of “Drill Music” in Chicago: Chief Keef, Young Chop, Lil Reese and Lil Durk. Chief Keef is arguably one of the biggest rappers in the Chicago drill music scene, hitting YouTube in late 2011 with his song Bang. The then 15-year-old rapper became a poster boy for “dead music” signing a deal with Interscope Records worth close to six million dollars. Noisey focused more on producer Young Chop, Lil Durk and Lil Reese, since artist Chief Keef was serving time in a juvenile detention center for a parole violation. Young Chop has been labeled the “Dr. Dre to Chief Keef's Snoop Dogg,” seeing that he is one of most known producers for drill music coming out of Chicago. Signing a deal with Warner Brothers, Chop has made a name for himself in Chicago and has since traveled the globe and worked with mainstream artists.

Noisey also spoke with Lil Durk about his upcoming projects, but was limited because Durk is currently facing a gun charge and his manager directed him not to "incriminate" himself. These young men are making a lot of noise in the Chicago rap scene these days. Check out the rest of the interview here.
