“In case you’re starting to wonder why my new shit’s sounding so H-town…” Drake has always shown the H-town love, and now Houston native Slim Thug is showing it right back. After hopping on the “We Made It” beat last week, Boss Hogg is back with his own take on Drizzy’s Hit-Boy-produced “Trophies.” With production as great as this, we have no problem with some more lyrical flavor being added to the already well-spun track.
Slim’s last project was 2013’s independently-released studio album Boss Life, which came out under Thug’s own Hogg Life label. The album’s second single, “Flex 4Eva” featuring Beat King and Boston George had a ton of DJ play in the club and saw a music video released in January of this year. The album also included features from Big K.R.I.T., Paul Wall, Chamillionaire, Kirko Bangz, Bun B, Yo Gotti, and Nipsey Hussle. Boss Life was Thugga’s first album for three years, so here’s to hoping we won’t have to wait three for the next.
