Is Troy Ave bringing traditional New York Hip Hop back? The answer is highly debatable, but ask anyone in his growing fanbase and they’ll probably tell you that he is. After all, his debut album was titled New York City: The Album. He released his White Chrismas 2 mixtape on Christmas Eve of this past year and has been giving us a steady stream of singles since. What we have here is the extended mix of his new song “Your Style” featuring South Jamaica Queens native Lloyd Banks. Troy gives us an interesting sample of his singing abilities on the track, although we’d probably recommend that he stick to rap after this performance. The Surf Club general and Grammy-winner (for Drake’s “Look What You’ve Done”) Chase N. Cashe provides the production. Hopefully we’ll be hearing another project from Troy Ave soon, the rapper is certainly poised to do even bigger and better things.
