Missy took over the game with her single "The Rain." Can you believe this song is 17 years old?

Missy Elliott came in the game with her debut album Supa Dupa Fly in 1997 with the hit single The Rain. The single was produced by none other than Timbaland which sampled Ann Peebles' 1974 single I Can't Stand the Rain, whose lyrics you can hear on the chorus. The track also samples moans from Method Man & Redman's The ?.

What's crazy is Missy hasn't released a project since her full-length studio album in 2005, The Cookbook. It doesn't even seem that long ago right? Well in an interview with Yahoo, Missy explained her hiatus stating that she needed time to "refresh" and says she wanted her work to be "game-changing." Missy also confirmed that she is working with Faith Evans on her upcoming album.
