Lupe Fiasco f. MDMA – I Don’t Wanna Care Right Now

A tad different from the ‘Cupcakin’ collab with MDMA, Lupe sounds like he’s on his David Guetta/Will.i.Am flow on this one.

    1. LU is my favorite rapper….hes a genius with the wordplay and vocabulary….

they told me to dumb down cousin and i flattely refused i ain’t dumb down nothin…but on this one atlantic made him do a soulja boy/black eye peas grammer school rap track….

    2. My doubt for LASERS grows everytime I hear a new song. Words I Never Said has been the only hot track so far and the hook on that was even horrible.

    3. one thing i have to say from all the stuff i have heard from lasers is lupe tried his best with the beats that atlantic wanted him to use. do u people really think lupe wants to put out intelligent rapping over these club banger like jams? come on people, its the industry they will do anything to make an extra dollar off his album. if u think lupe is really feelin these beats, go back n listen to dumb it down or SLR. he says it himself. at the same time as much as he would like to stick with beats that wouldnt come close to getting radio play, i dont think hes cryin over makin the extra money himself for getting recognition from the mainstream. I give props to lupe for trying his hardest to get the fans REAL ass lyrics, i know he’ll make up for atlantic watering down his shit. when food n liquer 2 drops everyone will see

      1. Stop dick riding and admit that this crap is wack. And if this track does go to the top, well this just proves lupe was wrong and atlantic right.

      2. @ L, i never said the song was anywhere near good, its garbage. I never said this track would go anywhere, all i was saying is lupe could have said ok atlantic ill be your bitch n make these radio tracks n we will both make money, but insted he stayed as true as he possibly could by meeting atlantic half way sticking to real talk in his lyrics, when atlantic was lookin to turn lupe into the next souja boi.

    4. I personally like this song…Good beat, catchy hook…Not the type of song I would typically like…

I tend to like songs with a little more lyrical depth than most mainstream shit but can’t nobody say that a beat and a good hook don’t matter otherwise Immortal Technique would be on top, haha…

    5. try to get past the hook and beat and listen to the lyrics..this is one of the tracks lu had to do to get Lasers out, but his lyrics is on point and the flow is stupid

    6. This track is actually really NICE! Lupe is entitled to have a little fun every now and then. And the beat is pretty solid! 5/5

    7. Don’t get it twisted: The LASERS that will release on March 8th is NOT the same LASERS that he was planning to release. Remember the snippets: ‘Scream’, ‘Army Girl’, ‘Ladies & Gentleman’ and ‘State Run Radio’. Those tracks were the original LASERS sound.

      Same thing happened to Chamillionaire.

    8. you people are retarded…atlantic forced him to come out with more “mainstream” songs like this…dont take it out on him. If he didn’t compromise with them, there would be no Lasers at all. So take what he gives you

    9. Wow…First track that Lupe has legitimately let me down on. I get that its ATL records choice but it still bugs me.

    10. Idk why yall are hattin so mucuh. the track is not that bad. lupe aint a fuckin sell out man. yeah its a lot different then what he ususally does but this is what he had to do in order to get a fuckin album out. im sure theres still gonna be that good old lupe kill on the album but he had to make records like this to get em out. and thats cool. and once again honestly the track is pretty good. terrible is not the word for it. yall are trippin too much. 4/5

    11. This track has convinced me to download the album before I buy it. Don’t blame it on me Lupe, blame it on the album and this wak ass club radio track… Where the fuck is State Run Radio!!!!

      0.5/5

Definitely gonna download this album before I potentially waste my money on another lost soul contribution to the Industry. Sorry Lupe.

      STATE RUN RADIO!!!

    12. YOU PEOPLE ARE CHUMP FUCKS. just cause it has a techno club vibe doesnt mean its shit listen to his lyrics and his flow this shit is dirty as fuck. the greatest rappers NEED tracks like this so people will listen to his real songs

    13. Leave LUPE THE FUCK ALONE LISTEN TO THE LYRICS
LIKE EVERYBODY HE NEEDS A CLUB SINGLE or a RADIO HIT TO REACH A LARGER AUDIENCE. LASERS WLL BE THE ALBUM OF THE YEAR SO JUST VIBE WITH IT OR GO UCK YOURSELF COMPLAINING BITCHES

    14. Yes…it’s different from Lupe. Yes…it has a club beat.

Does Lupe dumb it down? NO

      Is it still fly? YES

      5*? nah…

If this is the worst song on the album, then this album is still gonna be fly as hell.

      1. I gotta be honest i haven’t listened to the song, not until Tuesday, but I have to agree. The man should be able to switch it up without everybody bitching. Besides, it wasn’t even his choice, Atlantic made him…

    15. And Lupe proves yet again (Twilight being the first) that all these so called “underground type lyrical anti mainstream rappers” will sell out the first chance they get, im sure he will enjoy the cheques though.

    16. wtf is this shit…this shit sucks ass

fuck you Atlantic, nobody wants this shit – especially from Lupe. send this shit to will.i.am. This is not a Lupe Fiasco song

i’m pissed off now. fuck these labels

    17. What yall been smokin’ on,this is that fire!!! 🙂

If you are a true fan, you know what Lupe stands for and shouldn’t label him a sellout because of this!!! He is an artist, and if he doesn’t try new things he wouldn’t be much of an artist, right?? The album is gonna be bananas! :-)March 8 #Lasers!

      1. Lupe’s not a sellout…he fought and fought for years to make this album the way he wanted it, and in the end he just couldn’t win.

Read the article that HHDX just posted about Lupe, about half of these songs were given to him by Atlantic Records, where he was given the beat and the hook and told what to rap about on them. These aren’t Lupe Fiasco songs, these are songs by labelheads at Atlantic Records.

This album should be credited with Atlantic Records as the artist, not Lupe Fiasco. Fuck this album and fuck Atlantic. What a ridiculous disappointment.

Everybody go listen to “Shining Down” by Lupe to hear what Lasers was supposed to sound like.

    18. He gave a shout out to K’naan, did anyone catch that. He gets my respect for that

Anyway, its definitely different but Lupe still does his thing, this is just a track made for the charts. Lasers March 8th

    19. Fuck Atlantic for making him do this track. Shining Down is an awesome track that should have been on the album. My girl had never heard a single Lupe song a day before his concert. I played Shining Down to her on repeat and she learnt the chorus. She went fucking apeshit the next day when she heard it live. Labels need to trust their artists and promote them right. Lupe is not will.i.am. I’m still buying Lasers because a talent like Lupe’s needs support and there will be plenty of classics on the album.

    20. Looks like Atlantic wants to turn Lupe into flo rida. of course that is an insane comparison but this beat is wack and doesn’t fit lupe at all. that being said i still love Lupe

    21. What is wrong with you narrow peps? I always favour a club track by Lupe over Flo Rida or all these other shit ass rappers. Why cant he jump out of his lane for a few times. Guys, listen to the lyrics, they are way doper than all the other club songs.
And, everybody likes to go out, at least once in while and then this stuff nice to listen to…don’t be so negative and narrow all the time.
      Here are the lyrics:

      Bo-oy
Haters pray to god that I turn slow
      Like I’m sipping on purple
But I ain’t on your glow
I’m in a whole ‘nother circle
Trying to keep it clean like church clothes
Said that respect was something had to work for
But that ain’t gonna work though
Get your respect, but lose all my worth, no
You can get that, get a hearse, go
Don’t leave 48 you’ll find a killer in the first floor
It was me boy, to commercials
Feeling out of place like PETA at a fur store
So I left with a couple dozen fur coats
Said I could never break away from your hold
      Watch me, turn though
Said that I blew it like Turquoise
Just mad hear it all in your word choice
Know it hurts but I really don’t care though
Let me rub it in, get it all up in that ho

      [Hook:]
I can see the morning creeping up on us
It’s like the world’s in my hands now
I’m feeling so rebellious from all of the envy crowding around me
I don’t wanna care right now
I don’t wanna care right now
No I really don’t, really don’t, wanna care right now

      [Verse 2:]
      Oh-oh Go-Go-God over everything-thing
You fly but stars over everything-thing
And I’m one of them, yeah one of th-the-them
      Oh I’m not o-o-one? Well I’m a hundred th-the-then
I’m a hundred mother loving stars
You’re no lights, you’re an undercover car
I’m an ambulance, and a fire truck, and some strobe lights, tied up!
Shining all in your eyes, all out of yours and all into mine
Lights and stars is all intertwined
And I’m feeling like Malcolm looking all out the blinds
Any means any means, and you can do anything anything
And the flow tight, skinny jeans skinny jeans
Hit you like Pacquiao, Philippines Philippines

      [Hook]

      [Verse 3:]
Ya’ll know [?] I’m Lupe, yes sir, who they
They yester, and I’m today, and tomorrow, hooray
      Can I get a hip-hip for the new K-I-N-G, nigga I-AM-HE
Got the game in the clutch like I am G
You ball little boy, But I N-B-A
With a hand for the world, you a boy band with a dance and a twirl
I’m a rockstar with a band so thorough
Big ass tour bus that’s jammed full of girls
T-t-tell em what it do, holla from the bottom, yell it from the roof
T-t-tell em what it do, I don’t care about your curfew
I’ll tell you when I’m through boy

      1. The problem is this track sounds like SomeWackassProducer ft. Lupe Fiasco, not the other way. Lupe is a beast lyrically, but I would rather listen to some his radio freestyles over this. I would prefer this without MDMA and the stupid effects on Lupe’s voice. Maybe even acapella.

      2. That might be true, but I think this one might really help Lupe. As long as he’s not dropping lines like:
“Yeah, I love to drink, give me that Patron,
and all the bitches on spot,
        get get get it ooon,
and drop it like it’s hot”
I’m fine with and other should be too, because he stays true to himself. I mean, imagine one or few of this songs make him sell 300000 units in the first week, he deserves that.

    22. this song is good… fuck the haters. so all you ppl hating on this song… youd rather have soulja boy and wacka flocka rapping on beats like this? come on now

    23. what the fuck is this corny shit. Lupe wants to be a rebel speak for a revolution but put music out like this.

    24. Y’all hating on this, but once the album is out you’re going to be singing the hook all day long hahha

    25. This song is garbage and Lasers is disappointing. Even Lupe said himself that he hates the album because Atlantic fucked it up. All these pop songs were forced on the album. Let’s hope Lupes next album is that F & L and The Cool shit.

    26. If he tried to leave the label he would have been sued you have to fulfill your contract. Oh and even though the track is pop it kinda rides but the auto-tune chorus kills it.
