Report: Nas Owes Millions In Taxes
Much like fellow rapper Method Man [click to read], Nas has apparently failed to pay his taxes.According to a report by TMZ.com, the famed Queensbridge rapper owes $2,584,206.31 for unpaid taxes in 2006 and 2007.
This is the latest financial problem for the rapper, who was recently in the midst of a heated divorce lawsuit with R&B singer Kelis. In the suit, it was alleged that the rapper made nearly $150,000 per month, and spends over $70,000 per month [click to read].
It is unclear whether the two are still embroiled in a legal battle, as the former couple were spotted together last month, acting very amicably towards one another [click to read].
UPDATE: The legal battle is still in effect. This morning, Nas entered a not-guilty plea to contempt of court, according to TMZ.com. Kelis' legal staff has said that Nas has failed to deliver the court-ordered $200,000 child support.
In March the judge will rule on the verdict. If Nas is found guilty, he is at risk of serving jail time.
