Dr. Dre Readies New Line Of HP Laptops

Although Dr. Dre has historically been known more for his music than his entrepreneurial ventures, the good doctor has continued to remedy that with his latest product, the HP Envy 15 Beats limited-edition laptop.

The laptop, which comes in the wake of Dre's successful line of headphones, Beats by Dr. Dre, uses the same technology as the headphones.

According to MTV News, the laptop retails at $2,299 and comes bundeled with mixing software and a pair of Beats by Dr. Dre headphones. It is reported that Timbaland, Polow Da Don, Pharrell Williams and Will.I.Am assisted in the fine-tuning process for the laptop's sound.

"Sound is the heartbeat of music," said Jimmy Iovine, CEO of Interscope Records. "And Dre is the heartbeat of sound. He set the standard for many, many people."

"If I spend a year in the studio and spend all this time tweaking [my production] and making sure it sounds right, my main concern is for you to hear it the way it should sound," explained Dre. "The way it was meant for you to hear it."

As previously reported, Dre has also partnered with Lady Gaga to release a line of headphones called Hearbeats [click to read].
