DX News Bits: Meek Mill, G-Unit, Eve

That's how they feel. Because that's what they know. But when I get the chance to advance and spread from city to city, all across the United States, I feel as though it's going to be the same way."
In other news, 50 Cent's [click to read] long-delayed "Family Day" concert took place on Saturday at PS 40 elementary school in Queens, New York [click to read]. Scheduled to have taken place last month, the event was cancelled due to concerns of parents and authorities that a lack of police enforcement would lead to violence [click to read].
The safety issue appeared to have been resolved on Saturday as more than 2,500 fans attended the concert. 50 took to stage with G-Unit members Lloyd Banks [click to read] and Tony Yayo [click to read], and performed for a reported 5 hours. The event was not largely promoted, yet the huge turnout was due primarily to word of mouth.
Members of G-Unit were not the only ones to show up onstage with 50. Papoose and Cormega also came out to show their support. The appearance of the two rappers was a surprise to those attending the concert.
Lastly, the First Lady of the Ruff Ryders has been dropped from her Geffen recording contract. After a lengthy delay in the release of Eve's fourth album Flirt [click to read], it seems as if she may have to wait even longer before she can put out the CD. As if this were not unfortunate enough, Eve has also lost her clothing line, "Fetish."
Information on both reports are limited, although they are confirmed. Eve had resurrected the clothing line twice before, but said that this time, she will leave it be. Despite the bad luck the rapper has recently had in the music and fashion worlds, her acting career is still looking quite hopeful. She makes a cameo in Drew Berrymore's newest flick "Whip It," and will have a guest spot on Fox's newest smash hit show, Glee.
