Dana Dane Turns Into "Cinderfella" At B-Day Event
Legendary Brooklyn emcee Dana Dane will be celebrating his birthday at New York’s Shadow Nightclub this Saturday (September 12), courtesy of Your Knight Event Planners and UTFO’s Kangol Kid.
Hosted by radio personality Monie Love, the event will treat attendees to a Cinderella-themed party, from Dane arriving in a horse and carriage to his “blinged-out” shell toe Adidas, a theme taken from his 1987 hit record “Cinderfella Dana Dane.”
Dane, who alongside Slick Rick created the Kangol Crew in the early 80’s and subsequently inspired many local rappers throughout the five boroughs, said he was humbled by the star-studded birthday he’ll receive this year. “Kangol has adopted the role of my Funky God Father for my b-day celebration. I am excited and grateful that he and his team have chosen to put a star studded night together for me. It’s going to be a Cinderfella BALL!”
Notable guests expected to attend the nights festivities include Big Daddy Kane [click to read], Chubb Rock, and Brand Nubian. Fans unable to attend can listen to 107.5 WBLS FM for live coverage of the birthday party.
