Wale And UCB To Serve As The VMA’s House Band

At this years MTV Video Music Awards, Washington D.C. rapper Wale [click to read] and UCB will give the VMA’s a taste of DC’s signature go-go music when they serve as the house band for MTV’s annual awards show.

Ironically, Wale [click to watch] performed with Mark Ronson when Ronson served as the leader of the house band at the 2007 VMA’s. Wale later signed to Ronson’s Allido Records.

"This is a monumental point in my career,"
Wale said in a statement. "UCB and I will be adding an extra element to the VMA's as we bring our signature sound of go-go music to the stage."

The 2009 VMA’s will air on MTV on September 13. The show will be hosted by comedian/actor Russell Brand and will features performances from Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Pink, and more.

In related news, Wale will be releasing his debut album Attention Deficit on October 20. The album [click to read] was originally scheduled to be released this month.
