Bobby Creekwater Leaves Shady Records

Bobby Creekwater has joined the growing list of emcees leaving the Shady/Aftermath camp, currently including Obie Trice [click to read], Stat Quo [click to read], Raekwon [click to read], Joell Ortiz [click to read] and Busta Rhymes [click to read].

"I, Bobby Creekwater, am...no longer with Shady anymore," said the rapper in a video for MauriceGarland.com. "We parted ways. It was a business decision. Wasn't no bad blood, or nothin' like that...The relationship just ran its term, understand what I'm sayin'? As far as Bobby Creek was concerned...I have big plans. And that particular relationship [with Shady] wasn't helping as far as the plans I had.'"

"And I didn't get dropped!" added Creek vehemently. "I felt like it was time to move on, so I made a phone call to Paul [Rosenberg, Eminem's manager and co-founder of Shady Records] one Sunday morning, and had a talk." He added that he was grateful for the manner in which everything was conducted, saying, "Just so you know, labels, in some cases, can choose to be assholes and hold an artist on their label...and put an artist through a whole bunch of bullshit. But they didn't, and I appreciate that."

Creekwater signed with Shady Records in 2005, and appeared on 2006's Eminem Presents: The Re-Up [click to read], a group album featuring the label's artists.

The move will likely fuel criticism of Shady/Aftermath, as the labels have already been lambasted for sparse musical output and numerous shelved projects. Currently, the Shady Records roster includes Eminem [cilck to read], D12 [click to read], 50 Cent [click to read], Ca$his [click to read] and Slim Da Mobster.

Of course they let him walk. He has no value to them. I'd drop all these non sellers, especially when they're aware that the pipe dream is over.

Bet you now she wishes she had the abortion your grandma told her to get. Perfect reason why head is better then sex, women need to swallow ignorant folks like you one slurp at a time

  • TONYdaGHOST:

Dammit, they cant keep ANYBODY on that label!! I think Dre just has the worst case of ADD or somethin. There is no way in hell you can have so many talented artists on one label and not let them release anything. Dre had Rakim, Busta, Raekwon, Eve and Stat Quo. With the exception of Busta Rhymes, none of them ever put anyting out with an Aftermath stamp on it. Like Dre just spends so much time working on the same shit he's been workin on for like 11 years now and he can't focus on running a record label

They let your ass go cuz they know you aren't amount 2 shit!

  • White Treezy:

shady/aftermath is TERRIBLE at putting out their artists music. They've had some talented dudes on that label and Em went on a long hiatus and still nobody was put on in that time. Shit doesn't make sense to me.

Bobby Creekwood The Future Of This Atlanta Rap Shit, Who Ever Listen To Him, Know What I'm Talking About, He's The Mondren Day Of Andre 3 Stacks, I'm Glad He Left Em's Bitchass, No He Can Really Start Doing His Thang

  • Atl2Trill:

If you're not Curtis or Slim Shady you're not putting an album out on Shady or Aftermath records. Bobby Creekwater is talented and repping the A. So I'm gonna support his future music.

  • hutch:

like ne of them guys who left gon do it real big..please, labels tryna make money not waste money, u will never hear from ne of them from here on out.

  • The Lost Soul:

  • big braveheart:

New diss track - duelling banjos anyone?

  • Rachael5922:

I am starting to think that they are more like writing schools less like release labels lols

  • heflys:

Can anyone blame Bobby? He would've been trapped in label limbo for eternity. If you aren't Eminem or.....Well.....Eminem, good luck getting an album out. Hell, even Obie Trice left the label, and Alchemist had to release his album on E1 (formerly Koch). Mr. Porter is primarily a producer, so he could give a damn.

And it's not Eminem's fault; so stop stating that it is. It's those asinine label execs at Interscope.

  • simanga:

fuck u all, shady records don`t need any retarded mother fucker to mess up thier hard work instead they should keep(50,em) thats it, they will be making money more than terror squad together with cash money. This niggers are guaranteed for 4 plantnum and that for sure

Go back to AllHipHop then if it's so much better. We don't need nor want your kind here flooding our boards with your ramblings. Believe it though, this is real. Tommy C is fed up with the crap because it drives people away from the site, and he's ready to clean house. You are just one on a list of many to be banned; it's not just you. Believe it or not I'm trying to help you here by giving you the heads up. Either act right or go back to AHH, simple as that.

  • Donovan Irving:

damn these guys below..get a life n stop bitching over the internet...
but yea really sad for Shady Records :-(

first obie, stat n now bobby creek

  • Bobby McKay:

Does not help that alot of these comments are from these two girls arguing back in forth on the boards like little bitches that have been cheated on. Pathetic really. Don't really care about Creekwater and why would Shady/Aftermath need him?? They could probably just have Em and 50 on the label and they'll make all the bank they need.

And you know what, that's fine for them, but as a fan and someone who thought of Aftermath as a possible second Def Jam/Cash Money or any other very sucessful Hip Hop oriented company I expected more out of these guys.

If you look at the number of amazingly talented rappers they had in the past you can't help but think Aftermath is full of themselves

Oh and remember Em, Dre and 50 ain't gonna last forever
