Hip Hop Album Sales: The Week Ending 8/9/2009

Fabolous [click to read] went from #1 to #9 this week, in what was a third of the Brooklyn rapper's first week scans of Loso's Way [click to read]. As Fab descended, the Black Eyed Peas [click to read] and The E.N.D. [click to read] rose to #4, falling behind Gloriana, Sugarland and Now 31. Maxwell's Black Summer's Night remained fell four places to #7, still making its motions towards platinum.

Universal Records newcomer K'Jon [click to read] debuted just outside the Top with his I Get Around. Another Michigan native album, Eminem's Relapse [click to read] fell to #19. The Aftermath effort is still promised to be the first, as 50 Cent's Before I Self Destruct and Dr. Dre's Detox are on deck respectively.

The lone Hip Hop addition the charts this week came courtesy of Dallas sensation Dorrough. Dorrough Music [click to read], released on E1 Entertainment comes with help from Tum Tum, Lil Flip and other respected Texas rappers.

Twista [click to read]. Category F5 [click to read] remained in the Top 50. The effort's digital release on iTunes, includes a Kanye West-produced and featuring bonus song ["Alright" [click to listen]], in addition to a large reunion with longtime production partner The Legendary Traxster.

T.I. [click to read] needs just one more week to reach double-platinum status of his acclaimed 2008 album Paper Trail [click to read].

Jadakiss [click to read] heads towards 320,000 units sold of his The Last Kiss [click to read], while Flo Rida and R.O.O.T.S. hope to eclipse 220,000 by next week as well.
