Today, members of The Hip-Hop Caucus and Green The Block sat down with the Obama Administration at the White House to discuss ways in which low-income communities may participate in the emerging green economy. The campaign is a joint effort by the Hip-Hop Caucus and Green For All to ensure that these communities as well as communities of color gain access to beneficial resourses in an economy that is progressing towards clean-energy.

President Obama has expressed his desire to build an economy based on clean-energy, however some fear that many Americans will be left out of the green model. The briefing today was scheduled so that Green the Block members could address the link between poverty and climate change, and so that a consensus could be made on how to educate communities on how to get involved with a progressing green economy.

As of now, there is no word on how successful the talks were between Green The Block and the Obama Administration.
