Thursday night, HipHopDX was told that Dilated Peoples' front-man, and solo emcee/producer Evidence [click to read] has signed a recording contract with Minneapolis' Rhymesayers Entertainment.
Founded and operated by Atmosphere and Brent "Siddiq" Sayers, the independent outfit has been responsible for releases from MF DOOM [click to read], Soul Position and Brother Ali [click to read].
Evidence's Rhymesayers debut will be called Cats & Dogs, and is slated for 2010 release.
Last year, the Venice, California-based artist released The Layover EP on Decon Records, which featured Blu, will.i.am and others. In addition to the LP companion to the '08 EP, Evidence and longtime friend and collaborator Alchemist are said to be at work on a Step Brothers project.
"Me and Ev know each other so well that sometimes we’re kicking it with each other, and we take forever to get music done. Not because of our work ethic, just ‘cause of how we are and we know we’re going to make this project sound crazy. That’s probably why we haven’t fully focused on it, for a couple reasons. But we put the name to it, and I thought it was a good idea," Alchemist told DX last October.
