Brooklyn rapper and producer Necro [click here to read] was fined $3,000 yesterday for an incident which left another man with a fractured cheekbone. The altercation between the two men occurred during the Australian leg of the rapper’s international tour.

According to AllHipHop.com, Necro was standing outside of a cafe when he was approached by two other men who accused him of looking at them the wrong way. The men allegedly demanded in an aggressive manner, “What the fuck are you looking at?”

Necro‘s defense lawyer later claimed that Necro replied, in an effort to calm the situation, “What’s your problem? I’m not looking at you but I can look at who I fucking want.” The situation reportedly became physical, at which point Necro punched one of the men multiple times and was later aided by friend Christopher Catenacci who’s involvement only served to escalate the altercation.

After authorities were called to the scene, both Necro and Catenacci were arrested, resulting in the cancellation of the rapper’s performance at the Hyde Park Hotel. After spending a night in a police lockup, he plead guilty to assault. Greeted by a small group of fans upon leaving the court room, Necro said,

“I love my fans, I’m going to send them a personal response online [about this incident].

Known best for what may be considered hardcore gore-Rap, the New York native has created quite a niche for himself. The owner and founder of the independent label Psycho+Logical-Records is also distributed by E1 Music.

Necro will continue his overseas tour with his next stop in New Zealand.
