As evidenced by Jay-Z’s decision to showcase an old picture of Mobb Deep’s Prodigy in leotard in 2001, HOT 97’s annual Summer Jam can always be counted on for a few surprises. On June 7, a long list of Hip Hop and R&B acts will take the stage to grace Giants Stadium with what is believed to be the last concert there before the venue is demolished.
Comedian Tracy Morgan, of NBC’s “30 Rock” will host. Jim Jones, Young Jeezy, Mary J. Blige, The-Dream, Jadakiss and others are all currently scheduled to perform. Additionally, more artists will be added to the lineup in the coming weeks.
Tickets officially went on sale Wednesday, and prices begin at $40 through various Ticket Master outlets. A portion of all HOT 97 Summer Jam 2009 ticket sale proceeds will benefit HOT 97’s “Hip Hop Has Heart Foundation,” which provides financial assistance to charities that benefit tri-state communities.
Scheduled HOT 97 Summer Jam Performers:
