This morning, opting to reach out directly to fans as opposed to going through a publicist, Big Dho of the Justus League made a few announcements via the messageboards at OkayPlayer.com. Hall of Justus Music Group, the collective that consists of Little Brother as well as Joe ScuddaOddiseeCesar ComancheKhrysis and others are apparently closer to getting the major label backing that has become scarce in recent times.

“As quiet as it been kept, Hall of Justus Music Group have been in talks with Def Jam on an off for the past two years,”Dho wrote. “Well I’m in New York with our attorney and we’re inking the deal in a half an hour or so.”

In addition to a potential Def Jam/Hall of Justus partnership, it appears that 9th Wonder‘s [click to read] 2006 exit from Little Brother [click to read] was only temporary.

“The first artist to be released under our new deal will be Little Brother,”Dho added. “‘Tay, Pooh and 9th are back together and secretly been in the studio with 9th working on a new Little Brother album that will be released in September.”

If the partnership becomes official, it will mark a major label return for Little Brother, after 2005’s The Minstrel Show [click to read] was released on Atlantic. At press time Def Jam has not commented on the deal, but more details are expected to come soon.

UPDATE: Via Twitter, Phonte of Little Brother has denied these rumors and postings. “LB IS NOT SIGNING TO DEF JAM AND WE AIN’T FUCKIN WITH 9TH WONDER ANYMOOOOOOORE! *falls out* *end scene*” read a caption.
