After a short hiatus, Bronx rapper Nine is planning his return to Hip Hop.

“I walked away four years between the time Arista had me and I couldn’t work nothing out with them,”Nine explained in a YouTube video. “By the time they let me go, like I said, I had a lot of people sound like me. So I was shopping my music and people was like ‘You sound like…’ How can I sound like him?”

Discovered in the early 90’s by New York deejay Funkmaster Flex, Nine has gone on to release several albums and even tried his luck at acting, appearing in detective drama “New York Undercover.”

As part of his return, Nine has several projects in the works including two albums and a new company.

“Hopefully, with what I’m doing right now these next two albums,” said Nine. “These projects I’m working on. This company I put together. These producers. Hopefully, I leave persistence. That they can just write that on themselves, persistence. Like you don’t have to be in the public eye to be persistent. You could fall back. I was gone for a minute. I got e-mails all the time, ‘Thought you was dead. Thought you was in jail.’”
