Lil Wayne's Rebirth Slated For Summer Release
After initial reports that Lil Wayne’s venture into rock music might be shelved [click to read], new reports have surfaced that the album may be slated for a summer release.
Rebirth, Lil Wayne’s tentatively titled seventh studio album will be released June 9, according to an article in Rap-Up.
Initially slated for a May 19 release, Rebirth would’ve found itself going head to head with Eminem’s highly anticipated Relapse and Busta Rhymes' forthcoming Back On My B.S.
The June release date will also find Lil Wayne facing stiff competition at cash registers and computers. The Black Eyed Peas and rock band Sonic Youth will also release albums that day.
The first single from the album, “Prom Queen,” reached number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100. Rebirth’s next single, “Hot Revolver” was recently released to iTunes. The album will also contain a collaboration with Fall Out Boy.
