Uncle Murda Convicted Of ID Fraud
The charge, which happened in May of 2008 at the Los Angeles International Airport, occurred when an L.A.X. screener became suspicious as Uncle M., real name Leonard Grant, presented his ID card. While the photograph matched the name, police investigating the claim soon discovered that the ID number belonged to another person.
Pleading no contest, Uncle M. was found guilty for one count of possession of a counterfeit ID, with Uncle subsequently being sentenced to 50 hours of community service to go along with 18 months of probation.
Frank Mateljan, spokesman for the city attorneys office, explained the reasoning behind the citys decision. It was a legitimate ID. But it was the ID of another individual. Added Mateljan, He was trying to pass it off as his own. His motivation for doing so is unknown.
