While Cash Money Records, fronted by acts Lil Wayne [click to read] and Birdman [click to read], is currently raking in the dough by the millions, a former employee is wondering where his cash is at.

Tristan Jones, aka “T-Mix,” has recently filed a lawsuit against the New Orleans record label stemming from an alleged breach of contract. In the suit, Jones states that he signed an exclusive production deal with Cash Money in November of 2005, which also included his expertise in programming, arranging, and mixing.

The contract, which evidently ended in 2007, had allegedly promised Jones production royalties on all projects he performed on, including Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter II [click to read] and Birdman’s 5 * Stunna [click to read]. While Jones has stated he has received partial payments amounting to about $187,000, he believes his contribution of over 40 master recordings spanning two years is cause for a larger stipend.

Cash Money Records, which was founded by Ronald “Slim” Williams and Brian “Baby/Birdman” Williams, has allegedly grossed over $30 million because of Jones contributions, says his attorney. The lawsuit demands nearly $2.25 million in owed income.
