VH1 Censors Kanye West’s “Storytellers”
On the episode, which was taped on February 13, Kanye spoke on everyone from Michael Phelps to Chris Brown.
“Can't we give Chris a break? ... I know I make mistakes in life,” Kanye explained to the “Storytellers” audience. “…Michael Jackson, amazing. Michael Phelps, amazing ... He's a real fuckin' person; he makes mistakes.”
Kanye also expressed his newfound distaste for rockers, Radiohead, after he was allegedly snubbed by Thom Yorke backstage at this month’s Grammys.
“So when he performed at the Grammys, I sat the fuck down,” Kanye explained of the encounter.
According to one of “Storytellers” producers, Kanye’s more opinionated comments were edited due to length more than anything. The three-hour long show had to be edited down to 90 minutes.
“A lot of the stories that Kanye told went long,” Bill Flanagan, executive producer of “Storytellers” told Reuters. “I tried to get to the essence of his comments.”
VH1 “Storytellers” airs on February 28 at 9 p.m./8 p.m. Central.
